JAMB Publishes Official List of Approved CBT Centres for 2026 UTME.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published the official list of approved and accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise.
The board said registration for the 2026 UTME and DE will only be conducted at centres that appear on the approved list, warning candidates against using unaccredited cybercafรฉs or business centres.
Registration Limited to Accredited Centres Nationwide
According to JAMB, only centres that have met its technical, security, and operational requirements were accredited for the 2026 examination cycle. These centres are authorized to handle:
- UTME and Direct Entry registration
- Biometric data capture
- Other JAMB-approved candidate services
The board cautioned that registrations carried out at unapproved locations may be declared invalid, as such centres are not connected to JAMBโs secured systems.
JAMB Cites Past Registration Errors, Fraud Risks
Education officials familiar with the process said JAMBโs decision to strictly enforce registration at accredited centres follows challenges recorded in previous years, including:
- Incorrect candidate biodata
- Failed biometric verification
- Duplicate or incomplete registrations
- Allegations of fraud and data manipulation
By limiting registration to approved CBT centres, JAMB aims to protect candidatesโ data and improve the credibility of the examination process.
How to Check the Approved JAMB CBT Centres List
JAMB has made the list of accredited CBT centres available in an official PDF document, arranged on a state-by-state basis.
Prospective candidates are advised to:
- Check the list carefully before registering
- Confirm the exact name and location of the centre
- Avoid centres claiming approval without appearing on the list
Education analysts note that verification is especially important in densely populated states where fraudulent centres often operate during registration periods.
2026 UTME and DE: What Candidates Should Do Now
Although the board is yet to release the full registration timetable and examination dates for the 2026 UTME and DE, candidates are advised to:
- Monitor official JAMB announcements
- Begin early preparation for CBT examinations
- Avoid last-minute registration to reduce technical issues
Historically, early registration has helped candidates secure preferred centres and examination dates.

CBT Centres, Schools Can Still Apply for Accreditation
JAMB also indicated that secondary schools, computer centres, tutorial centres, and other registered organizations interested in participating in the CBT process may apply for accreditation, subject to meeting the boardโs standards.
Only centres that successfully pass JAMBโs inspection and verification process will be approved and listed.
